The Firm

History, vocation and organisation

High quality and personalised service – these are the values around which, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Gustavo Ghidini gathered together some of his best pupils and assistants with whom he had worked in the past in other associated studies and who would aid him in the founding of Firm Ghidini & Associati, later to develop in 2001 into the present-day Firm, incorporating the name of his pupil and professional partner, Emilio Girino.

During its first fifteen years of activity the Firm grew rapidly, gaining professional specialisations and intensifying its vocation in several specific sectors of business. Thus the Firm’s natural configuration developed as it directed its business along two main lines: on one hand the I.P. area, which covers themes relating to intellectual property, competition and the antitrust discipline; on the other hand the corporate-financial area, which includes corporate, finance, banking and stock brokerage law.

Aware of the inevitable and complex overlapping of the above mentioned activities, the Firm does not opt for any one operating department but rather favours an interdisciplinary and all-round approach, in which professionals operate both in the litigation and the consulting fields and in the sectors between these two areas, such as contract management and company takeover, as well as in innovative and “borderline” sectors such as, for example, privacy, advertising law and e-commerce.
Recently, due to the huge increasing of financial regulation, the Firm has paid its attention also to the fields concerning corporate governance and banking and financial compliance by acquiring a distinguished professional skill in person of Gianni Pasini, past Member of Consob.

While its main office is in Milan, over the years the Firm has built up an operating network that includes the markets of Rome and Paris, in association with agencies of equal standing and professional vocation.
The clientele of the Firm is predominantly composed of small/medium businesses, which are united by a specific need to draw on the professional competence and experience of what may be defined as a “legal boutique”, a structure that is dynamic, efficient and modern while remaining firmly anchored to a model of service in which the personal component, special attention to the specific needs of the client, “made-to-measure” solutions and the avoidance of standardisation continue to be the principle inspiration and guidelines in providing the service.
